Come back trail

We are moving on the exercise front again and it is paying off.

The weigh in last week was 196.5 lbs.
and the low from October was 190.3 lbs.

And the weigh in Tuesday this week, 11/26/13 was. . .

194 lbs.
Down 2.5 lbs for the week.

$850 and holding.

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Speechless!

OK, I've got nothing to say this week.

The weigh in last time was was 194
and the low in October was 190.3.
and the weigh in on Wednesday, 11/20/13 was . . . .

196.5 lbs

The right direction . . . .

It's me again, but not because this was a "bad" week.  I am just here till Mary gets back to where she was in October.  Last Tuesday the weigh in was 195.  And this week. . . . . . . . . . . .

194 lbs.
The right direction but we are still just covering old territory.

$850 and holding.

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Oh, I'm back again and I am not happy.

The last official weigh in for Mary on October 22nd was at 190.3 lbs. on

This Tuesday, November 5, 2013
the weigh in was:

195 lbs

Obviously, the Hawaii fund is down, but more importantly
that is the wrong frigging direction!!!!

$850

Post vacation blahs. . . .

The Florida trip the first week in October was great fun.  Perfect, except that it had not cooled down as much as we expected.

We were on our feet and walking all day in Florida, but we overestimated how much exercise we were getting.  That does not translate to the kind of cardio needed to overcome vacation eating.  However, eating was in moderation and the week we got back was a tiny loss compared to the last official weigh in on 10/1, which was 192.7.  So, 10/8, the day we got back from the trip and 10/15 were unofficial weigh ins with tiny losses both weeks.

Mary reported an official weigh in on Tuesday 10/22 of 190.3 lbs.  Yeah!  However, we have no weigh in report of 10/29.  Boo!

So we are adding three weeks, 10/8, 10/14 and 10/29 to the end of the contest.  They just don't count unless we get a Tuesday weigh in.

Even though there was not an official weigh in the week before, 190.3 lb. was at least one pound less than the week before, to the Hawaii fund is up to:

$900

Definitely back on track!!!!!!

I will speak for myself this time,
much as I like Bob Harper.

I am back on track and there to stay!
Having a great time in Orlando and Clearwater.
See you all soon.

This report is for the weigh in on
October 1, 2013.  The weigh in before that
was not reported but on Thursday, September 26th
the unofficial weigh in was 194.2 lbs.

So any loss this time is for just the 5 days
after that unofficial weigh in.  Not much time.

And the weigh in is . . . . . . . . . .

192.7 on October 1, 2013.
For a total weight loss of 1.5 lbs and
a percentage of weight loss of almost 8 tenths of a percent.

YES!

And the Hawaii fund is now up to:

$800

A pendulum or back on track.......

The weigh in we reported on September 3rd was up from 194.9 on
August 27th to 197 on September 3rd.  That was the one that set
Jillian off.

We are not even mentioning the official weigh in on this Tuesday, 9/24,
but as of today, Thursday, 9/26 Mary weighed in at

194.2 lbs, only down 7 tenths of a pound
from one month ago,
but she is back and back on track!

There was one loss of over one pound in the swings
the last month, but we are not paying good money for ground
that has already been covered.  So, the Hawaii fund is still holding at $700.

While the cats away . . . .

OK, I am back and I am not happy.  This is not just a game, it is a way to
change habits for good.  Mary seems to think when the trainer is away there
is no reason to keep to her plan.  That just does not cut it.

Mary reports that she ate what she wanted at one party and that affected her
weight.  Ok, maybe a little I would buy.  But if you train all week and eat right all
week, splurging once is not going to be a disaster.  It is being consistent all week that
really counts.  I see a pattern of ignoring eating right and training for most of the week
and making up for it with a good two or three days.  So naturally when you eat too much at
a party on Sunday for a weigh in on Tuesday you do not see good results.  Just doing
what you have to at the end of the week to have a decent weigh in is disturbing.
Maybe you can make it through the contest that way, but it shows there is no real
change at a deeper level.

Eating right and getting good exercise
is not something you do for a few days a week to win a bet.  It
is what you do for the rest of your life because it will make life better.

So it is what it is this week, but let's see real change in the future, not just ok numbers.
Last week the Tuesday weigh in was 194.9 lbs.

This week the weigh in was 197 lbs, up 2.1 lbs.

This means a penalty of -$50 from the Hawaii fund
and a lot of hard work to get back to square one.

$700

We are back!

There has been a little interruption in our regularly
scheduled programming, but we are back.

We last reported in for the Tuesday August 6th
weigh in at 198.6 pounds.  Wonderland!!!!!!

August 13th was down
.9 pounds to 197.7 lbs.  Not bad, but not a full pound.

We are lumping the results together for the weigh in August 20th
and August 27th.  So we are looking for the total weight loss since
August 13th.  And that is . . . . .

194.9 pounds
for a total weight loss of 2.8 lbs
and a percentage of total weight
lost of 1.42%.

So with an average for the two weeks of 1.4 lbs
each week, the Hawaii Fund is now:

$750

Does it happen this week?

A little late again in reporting on Tuesday morning's weigh in, but here it is:

Mary was getting close to Wonderland last week at 201.7.  (For those of you who do not watch me on the Biggest Loser "Wonderland" should be spelled "Onederland" and means getting back into the 100's after being over 200 pounds for a long time!  If not this week, then maybe next???? Let's see . . . .

Last week's weigh in was 201.7 lbs.

AND

This week was:

198.6 lbs.
for a total of 3.1 pounds
and a total percentage of weight lost of
1.54%

It was Wonderland and Disneyland all in one week  . . . . . .

and the Hawaii Fund,

is now up to $550 and growing.

Bob Harper chimes in!

Ok, it is time for me to weigh in on this blog.  For those of you who do not watch The Biggest Loser, I am trainer Bob Harper.  Mary worked hard against a tough break this week.  On the Sunday before the weigh in last week Mary took a fall and sprained, strained or cracked a rib or something that by Tuesday last week was really hurting and made it hard to keep up an exercise routine, but Mary kept at it and exercised as much as she could.

Last week's weigh in was 203.7 lbs.

This week's weigh in was
201.7 lbs
for a total weight loss of 2 lbs
and a percentage of total
weight lost of .98%.

Weigh to go!!!

The Hawaii fund is now $450 and we all know what is just around the corner!

Monday, July 29, 2013

Opps!

Correction to the new rules.  That should have said that there would be a deduction of $50 for any week were there was a loss of less than 1/2 a pound, not one pound.

Better late than never . . . .

Ok, we are little late with the results for the weigh in last Tuesday, July 23rd.

The prior week weigh in was 204.6 lbs.

And the weigh in on July 23rd was
203.7 lbs.
For a weight loss of .9 lbs and a percentage of
weight loss of
.44%.

We also promised some changes to Mary's Biggest Loser contest rules.  Instead of a 16 week plan with a goal of 2 lbs per week, we are switching to at least a 32 week plan with a goal of 1 pound per week.

For every week that there is at least a 1 lb weight loss, Mary's Hawaii trip fund goes up $100 dollars.  For any week where there is a weight loss of less than one pound it goes down $50.  In order to get the fund Mary's weight loss has to average 1 lb per week at the end of the contest.  As Mary noted, this has the added advantage of keeping her reporting how she is doing through the holidays.

Based on the new rules for the first 6 weigh ins, Mary's Hawaii trip fund, is now:

$350
Over the 6 weeks, Mary has lost 10.4 lbs.
or 4.9% of her total weight.

The weigh in and maybe some changes to come . . .

Weight last week was 206.1 lbs.

And the weigh in this week was 204.6 lbs for a weight loss of
1.5 lbs
and a percentage of weight loss of
.7%.

Since the start of the program Mary's average weight loss per week has been 2.1 lbs (helped a lot by the first week's big weight loss.)  We are thinking of some changes in the contest. While rules are not made to be broken, rules you make up yourself can certainly be changed.  More on that tomorrow.

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

I've got nothing to say about this week.
Mary's probably heard all she wants to from me today!

Last week's weigh in was 206.4 lbs.

This weeks weigh in was 206.1.

For a total weight loss of .3 lbs
and a percentage of weight lost
of .15%.

With less than a 1 lb loss this week Mary's Hawaii fund is now:
$100

and shrinking!!!!

But to paraphrase Anne of Green Gables,
"Next week is always fresh with no mistakes in it."

The bad news and the good news.....

I'm back.

A couple of things happened this week.  First, Mary wanted to take the best out of two weights between the scheduled Tuesday morning weigh in and Wednesday.  So, OK, we did that.

I think the results have shown us two things about Mary this past week.  First, she was not consistently exercising every day at least 60 minutes of tough cardio workout and she was not counting and meeting the Weight Watcher points every day.  Maybe more importantly it also showed us that she has what it takes to do it when she wants to.  The weigh in Tuesday would have been a weight gain, and the weigh in Wednesday was:

206.4 lbs

down 1.5 lbs from last week and down .72%.
After the results Tuesday morning Mary pushed herself hard to get to the top of Briggs and went to YMCA for a good workout and did everything right.  And she lost over 1.5 lbs in one day.  Maybe Tuesday was higher than it should be for some reason, but even so she made a big difference in one day.

But this contest is not going to be won by great "last chance workouts" and one or two days of eating right before the weigh in.  This is going to be won, and Mary is going to get her health and her life back, by working hard and eating right every damn day.  No excuses!!!!  So here is to next week and consistency.
$200 dollars and holding!

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

to be continued . . . . .

Weigh in on hold . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Since no one was available as an official monitor of Mary's weigh in today, she has asked to be able to put the weigh in on hold till Wednesday morning when Kevin and Gretchen will be at Panorama for the weigh in.  We are allowing a little allowance in the rules which is highly irregular and no doubt causes some suspicion that Mary was not happy with the results today.

On the other hand Mary called to report this morning that she was at the mountain lion warning sign at the top of Briggs.  A big milestone on a more aggressive training plan that Mary is working on.

We will all keep our fingers crossed for a good weigh in tomorrow, and Kevin and Gretchen will be good trainers for the time that they are with Mary this week.

June 25, 2013

OK, unfortunately, this week we are hearing from Jillian.
Mary, you are better than this!
No real exercise plan and no Weight Watchers point

tracking, not even any log of what you were eating.

Come on girl!!

Ok, last weigh in was Tuesday, June 19th with

a weigh in of 209.7 lbs

on June 19, 2013

207.9 lbs

for a total

weight loss

of

1.8 lbs

and a total

percentage weight loss

of

.86%

$200 and holding

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Remember the starting weight on June 13, 2013 was:

214.1 lbs
It has not been a full week since we started on Mary's birthday on Thursday, June 13th and weigh in days are on Tuesday.  So if there is not a full pound weight loss there will be no penalty this week!

However, if there is a 2 pound weight loss that will be good for the $200 and a good start.

Mary is still working on getting an exercise program worked out, so this week was a slow start on that front.  More from Mary on that soon!!!!!!!

So . . . .  it is hard to get the same drama they do on TV with this, but the following is the result for this week.

on June 19, 2013
209.7 lbs
for a total
weight loss
of
4.4 lbs
and a total
percentage weight loss
of
2.06%
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, June 14, 2013
